DIY Decor Ideas

Definitely Boho Decor is my favorite type of decoration. I love to research and have new ideas to make and use as decoration in my home. Sometimes the decoration items that we like are not cheap and we can’t buy them. Most of the times though, with some research, we are able to find very similar items which won’t break the bank 😉 A good tip, is one that I use quite often myself: reusing old decorations! You can give them a new life by modifying them and doing something new. Sometimes you just need to paint a vase or cover a bench with a new fabric and that will already make the biggest difference. Whenever I can do a DIY I do it and my bank account thanks me 😛 Who doesn’t like new ideas and spending less? Below are some examples of what you can do to have new decoration items in your home 🙂

Easy Sew & Rope Basket

Don’t you just love those little storage baskets you see in Michaels, Target and just about anywhere? And yeah, it’s not like they’re mega expensive, but I just love to go home and make stuff like that for myself. It goes through me buying something new when I can make it, and exactly how I want to make it too. Does anyone else ever feel like that? Well, this little basket I’ve made couldn’t get much easier and it makes use of things you probably already have lying around your home giving some old bits and bobs a new purpose.

How to Make A Monkey Fist

Have you ever crafted something purely by accident? You know when you start a project expecting it to be one thing and it surprisingly turns into something else (…even better). We all have crafting and DIY fails from time to time, but I’m talking about the opposite experience. For me, these sisal nautical rope balls (which I’ve since learned are also known as Monkey’s Fists) are an example of just that. Today we want to show you how to make a monkey fist with sisal rope.

DIY Stick Framed Round Mirror

Rustic & Modern DIY Project To Try

I saw these round 10 inch mirror plates at Hobby Lobby for $6 and knew there had to be a cool way to frame them. Unfortunately, I don’t have any wood working skills, so I had to come up with something creative for this project.

I’m definitely a rustic kind of gal, so the first thing that came to mind were sticks! But how would I attach them? Hmmm. Cardboard. Ok, now I’m getting somewhere. Cardboard is nice and all, but how would I hang it on the wall? Dang it! This is never going to work.

A few weeks later, I stumbled across those Command strips for hanging frames. Bingo! Each strip holds up to 4 pounds, and this mirror has got to weigh less than half of that.

So the project began…
